Gang uses fake court summons to prevent witness from appearing at court

In a shocking incident, a gang facing robbery charges has been accused of employing deceptive tactics, including the use of fake court summons, to intimidate a witness and deter them from attending a court hearing. The victim, Abhijeet Tiwari, a resident of Gomti Nagar Extension, filed a complaint with the police detailing the attempts by the accused to hinder his testimony in a case related to attempted robbery and tampering of government documents at Hazratganj Kotwali.

Abhijeet Tiwari, in his complaint, identified the accused as Poonam Kumari, Mohan Kumar, Vinit Pandey, Amit Dubey, Shyam Dev Pandey, Durgesh Rai, and Om Sahai. According to Tiwari, the gang employed various tactics, including intimidation and trickery, to prevent him from appearing as a witness in the case. The latest attempt involved sending a fake court summons, purportedly from the court of FTC (women) Azamgarh, directing Tiwari to appear in a case there.

He said he went to the court in Azamgarh on the date of hearing and was told by the court clerk/reader that there was no summons sent to him either. “They used a fake court stamp to send the summons at my address through post,” the victim said.
